The Last Of The Galleons (Za poslední lodí)

Lyrics: Robert Krestan, Translation: Ruth Ellen Gruber

The last of the galleons had sunk in the sea
The last of the soldiers had heard his death knell
And a desolate chant from within a stone cloister
Was like one of us bidding farewell

The last of the galleons had sunk in the sea
And like night-flying bats the wind ruffled the shore
And a bold young musician chimed chords on an organ,
Jeremiah´s his name evermore

The last ship had sunk, and I rushed to a place
Where the turning flood tide left me armor from Spain,
A sack of pesetas, some yellowing letters;
Stark memories and unfathomed pain

Druha Trava - Shuttle To Bethlehem

Druha Trava is a wonderfully individual band from the Czech Republic that is hard to describe.

They perform new acoustic world music with bluegrass influences. You might hear them perform a bluegrass tune, Bob Dylan tune or one by another American or British artist, or one of their many originals.

Though they basically use a typical bluegrass complement of instruments, you might see the banjo player also pick up a clarinet or Irish whistle. This along with the versatility of the dobro player helps create much of their unique sound. The Bluegrass Association of the Czech Republic declared Druha Trava "Group of the Year" in both 2005 and 2006.
